The Test tickets are useful for determining if FieldTicket will a) print from the handheld, and b) print your ticket nicely. Note that fields 17-29 do not always print with a real ticket - FieldTicket knows what to do when printing a real ticket - the sample ticket printer on this page does not - it just prints ALL possible fields so that field placement on your ticket stock can be verified).
Line-up tips for loading new rolls: when loading a new roll, after loading it into the printer, and it does it's automatic form-feed (if the power is on); manually (and gently) pull the first form out until the perf cut on the ticket stock sits exactly on top of the rear cut edge. Then tear off the ticket you just pulled out towards the back of the printer. From there on, the VEH and LNA (if you do LNA) tickets should print exactly to the cut line, allowing you to easily tear off tickets to the back cut edge. The best tear motion is to tear with a slight angle on the ticket. If the line-up isn't 100% perfect - don't worry, it should self-align to the rear cut edge after the first ticket is printed.
